Educators have more pressures on their time than ever before. Many reporting processes are complicated or cumbersome, outweighing the cost of something that may not seem “that big of a deal”. Large or small, from recognizing good behavior to providing notes on SEL development, from noting a student seems sad today to reporting a fight in the hallway, AHM makes recording the information fast and simple. More importantly AHM keeps it all in one place and shares relevant information with those who need it.
Especially in today’s high anxiety environment, our kids need help developing. While this is true of learning skills, it applies equally to developing social and emotional learning (SEL) competencies; the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. By gathering and compiling notes on behavior, indicators of successes or struggles in development, AHM can point school personnel to which students need assistance in specific areas.
Increasingly, Behavior Pattern Recognition shows specific behaviors that indicate propensity towards given outcomes. By noting and compiling the minute indicators and behaviors, the need for assistance can be recognized and engaged much earlier than the crisis stage. By combining standard school incident reporting, including positive recognition, taking in events in students’ personal lives, and allowing for notations on learning patterns, AHM creates a unified depository of information. This can be digested by staff to allocate time and resources to the students showing need.
Minimize Student Crisis
Think about a student who hit a critical point: suicide, running away, suffering abuse, or becoming belligerent, starting fights, dropping grades or quitting activities. Don’t those who knew the student always have fractional indicators (little pieces of information) that, if taken as a whole, would point to a problem? Why have separate forms, reports, emails and programs for each of the needs of a student? Because of the similar reporting forms and information gathered, AHM puts all of the behavioral data together for easy review, sharing and analysis. AHM is a one-source solution to many different approaches.
